Context:
Arris Composites was transitioning from EVT to production for its carbon fiber bicycle spokes scale up for the (Specialized Bicycles) Roval Alpinist CLX III wheel. There was only a couple of months available before hardware was needed to hit customer spokes deliveries.
Problem Statement:
Prototype hardware used to make carbon fiber bicycle spokes was handed off to me to scale up to support manufacturing 100,000+ spokes/month.
Solution:
Redesign the main assembly that technicians interacted with for reliability, consistency, and ergonomics.
Manage BOM and GD&T; supplier selection;
validation; procurement; and commissioning in Taiwan.
